Tutorial 7 : Creating Custom Reports
In the last tutorial you learned how to create custom forms, in this tutorial you will learn how to create custom reports. The two go hand in hand by keeping the style of your database consistent and for modifying and viewing data easily. As you know, reports are a formatted display of content from one or more tables in your database. You can view data using tables, datasheets, queries and forms - but reports provide you with greater flexibility and deliver a more professional readable appearance. Up until this point, the primary focus has been on getting data into your database, now you will focus on getting the data in a useful manner. Learning how to modify and build custom reports including grouping data, calculating totals, and adding lines to separate report sections will enhance them and make them easier to read.
